The pump is made up of a bowl assembly with the bottom impeller, a vertical motor, and a shaft (column). Here’s a step by step overview of its operation:

• The motor, which sits atop the mounting plate, drives a long vertical shaft.

• When the impeller spins, it pulls fluid into the pump bowl and drives it upward in the column pipe.
